Key2roam® workshop in Prague establishes a new Interest Group

Following the CEE Mobile Forum event held in April in Prague, Comfone took the opportunity to gather together some of the leading operators from the EECA region and introduce them to Comfone Key2roam®, a new roaming solution they were all keen to learn more about.

Key2roam® is a roaming brokering solution that enables fast roaming worldwide. It is based on buying and selling roaming and SMS interworking clearing traffic and aims to increase roaming coverage while cutting operational costs.

The workshop, led by Alina Tsapko, Sales Director for the EECA region, and Kam Mehta, Senior Product Manager, covered all technical and commercial aspects of Comfone Key2roam®. The workshop proved very interactive, with all attendees eager to explore all features of the solution in depth. Workshop participants represented well-established mobile operators from the EECA region, all of whom recognised the potential value that a solution like Key2roam® could bring to the roaming industry as a whole.

Workshop participants included Roaming Managers from MOBI'S (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Mobitel (Slovenia), EMT (Estonia), LMT (Latvia), Eurotel Praha, T-Mobile, Cesky Mobil (Czech Republic), Novgorod Telecommunications, KB Impuls (Russia), EuroTel Bratislava (Slovak Republic), Mobtel (Serbia), Golden Telecom and UMC (Ukraine).

Gathered together for an intensive day's work

The result of the workshop was the creation of a new 'Key2roam® Community Interest Group'. All attendees were given the opportunity to sign a 'Letter of Intent', where mobile operators expressed joining the Key2roam® community as an objective for the near future. In addition, participants made up individual wish lists naming all mobile operators throughout the world that they would like to achieve roaming with.

The workshop proved extremely useful and very productive in launching Comfone Key2roam® into the mobile roaming arena.

After a very long, but very constructive day, all workshop participants enjoyed an evening together and some well earned food and drink!
