Globe Telecom, Philippines, joins the Key2roam® community

Globe Telecom is the latest GSM operator to join Comfone's unique roaming community, Comfone Key2roam®, making Key2roam®'s first footprint step into Asia.

Globe Telecom:
- Went live in October 1994
- Has a history of uniting people by forging strong links of communication throughout the country
- Descended directly from Dollaradio, a ship-to-shore radio and telegraph company in the 1920s
- Is now one of the leading providers of digital wireless communication services in the Philippines, utilizing a fully digital network based on GSM technology
- Was the first mobile service provider to offer SMS and MMS
- Has over 3'000 cellular sites spread over the Philippines
- Is primarily owned by Ayala Corporation and Singapore Telecom International

Key2roam® community members enjoy numerous benefits:

- Operators can increase their roaming coverage while cutting operational costs
- Only one single roaming agreement with Comfone Key2roam® is required to access all roaming partners who are part of the Key2roam® community
- Joining Key2roam® requires no change to operators' existing signalling and clearing standards and practices
