EMT
GSM, the largest mobile communications operator in Estonia
with an estimated 47% market share of Estonia's 900'000 subscribers,
is the latest GSM operator to join Comfone Key2roam®.
Since network launch in January 1995, EMT
GSM has established the position as leading mobile operator in
the country, with the strongest network signal across Estonia,
the broadest network and the greatest diversity of services. The
operator manages two networks, one digital GSM 900 and the other
GSM 1800 net.
Easti Telekom is the sole owner of EMT, whose headquarters
can be found in Estonia's capital city, Tallinn.
The Mongol-Japan joint venture, MobiCom Corporation,
began operation in March 1996 as the first operator of cellular
phone services in Mongolia. Now with 70% of the Mongolian mobile
market, MobiCom is the leading operator in the country.
MobiCom continues to provide the most modern telecommunications
services to its clients, including new datacom services and attractive
applications. This year MobiCom has made GPRS and MMS services
available to its subscribers.
Comfone Key2roam® is a unique solution enabling operators
to increase roaming coverage while cutting operational costs.
Based on the GSMA's "Roaming Broker" concept, with only
one single roaming agreement with Comfone Key2roam®, operators
gain access to all roaming partners who are part of the Key2roam®
community.
Testing (IREG and TADIG) is greatly simplified and reduced and
Key2roam® partners can settle all roaming and messaging traffic
by a single standard monthly financial clearing process between
the operator and Comfone. Comfone takes on financial liability
towards partner Key2roam® operators........and there is no service
charge.
