Comfone enjoys sporting sponsorship high in Singapore

Comfone takes its role in regions very seriously. This month, Comfone's regional headquarters for Asia in Singapore is even making an impact on the sporting world of basketball!

Inspired both by our desire to support a local amateur sports team and also by our own basketball playing Vice President, Roberto Carfagno, Comfone decided to sponsor the renamed 'Comfone - LC Basketball Club' in the BBAXN League in Singapore. The year-old team were happy to take on their new name and don their new team kit.

On behalf of the whole team I would like to thank Comfone for supporting us in the season ahead. We have had a very good play record in the previous season and feel sure that with Comfone's sponsorship and new team kit we will be motivated to play even better. Who knows, maybe we'll even bag the Championship!"

The renamed team gathered on the 14th October for their very first match, a game which they convincingly won against the BBAXN Boomers Basketball Club 123-48, an excellent start taking the team to joint top position of the league! Before the match, the team grouped together to listen to the Captain's game strategy and then the team wished themselves good luck by shouting “1-2-3: Comfone.” Perhaps we'll take on this ritual at our company headquarters at coffee break every morning too!

Then only five days after the team's inaugural match they received the further honour of being invited to take part in a friendly match against the Singapore National Team, including players from Singapore Slingers Koh Meng Koon and Pathman Matialakan, in the Singapore National Stadium.

The friendly took place last week, on the 26th October, and the 'Comfone LC Basketball Club' played a brave game against Singapore's national team. Unfortunately, this time, they didn't win, but the final score of 85-39 was certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

We wish the 'Comfone - LC Basketball Club' the best of luck for the future.
