III International Forum “Mobile Eurasia-2007” sponsored by Comfone

“This is our third Forum and judging by the previous two, I can guarantee to all of you hard work during the day and only very few hours of sleep in the next several days”, said Alina Seric-Tsapko, Comfone’s VP Sales EECA, during her opening speech.

Comfone, together with Sky Mobile, the leading operator in Kyrgyzstan and our business partner, sponsored the III International Forum “Mobile Eurasia-2007,” which took place last September at one of the most prestigious hotels in the country, located on the beautiful Lake Issyk-Kul, the pride of all Kyrgyz people. More than 120 telecommunication professionals from ten different countries went to the Kyrgyz Republic to share their experiences and discuss trends of mobile market development.

On the first evening, all delegates - representatives from the leading mobile operators of Central Asia and CIS, service and content providers, state institutions and mass media - gathered for the opening of the Forum where Alina Seric-Tsapko, Comfone’s Vice President Sales EECA, together with Alexey Modin, General Director of Sky Mobile, and Adakhan Madumarov, State Secretary of Kyrgyz Republic, made speeches and took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

During the plenary sessions Comfone’s Vice President for Sales EECA also spoke about the current mass shift towards a Roaming Hub model in roaming and the role of Key2roam in the open connectivity initiative of GSMA. Ruslan Sabyrov, Comfone’s Sales Director for Central Asia, presented the concept of Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange which has to be implemented by all operators from the 1st October of 2008.

Following the hard work sessions, Comfone and Sky Mobile arranged a sightseeing boat trip down the lake of Issyk-Kul. Throughout the tour the guests enjoyed the beautiful mountain views and a wonderful sunset.

Later in the day participants were treated to a full programme of culture and entertainment, which included a concert, disco, dance show, karaoke, various contests, live music and a lakeside dinner of which the highlight was a traditional spit lamb roast and a display of famous cognacs under the brand “Kyrgyzstan”.
