Network and payload security ensured.

Network Security
The Comfone backbone has been designed to meet the security requirements of GPRS operators. The network on which the GRX is implemented is 100 % separated from the public Internet. Additionally the public IP addresses used are not advertised outside the GPRS community.

Payload Security

Theoretically, the payload can be encapsulated multiple times by the end-user, GPRS network operator or GRX provider. Multiple encapsulations generate a significant overhead and thus larger volumes. The consequence of this is higher costs for no added security. With the Comfone GRX, the payload (user data) does not need to be encapsulated (e.g. with IPsec) on the Comfone backbone. This is because it is built on a private network with built-in security.
