MMS
delivery
Offloading tasks from the opeator MMSC
Relation Management
Black and white lists allow the administration of MMSC relations.
This prevents the flow of unwanted traffic and halts spam attacks
to the destination MMSC.
Store and forward
Normal operation of the MMS Hub is transparent (i.e. all received
MMSs are forwarded to the destination MMSC, and the forward response
is awaited from the destination.)
In store and forward the MMSs are pre-acknowledged. With this
mechanism much of the MMSCs interoperability problems from different
MMSC vendors can be solved. This is because the originating MMSC
sends MMSs only to the MMS Hub and not to several MMSCs from different
vendors.
Number portability
Multimedia messages are routed based on MSISDN, which in certain
countries may have been subject to number portability. The MMS
Hub queries the HLR of the number range holder to obtain the MCC
and MNC of the serving operator and then delivers the message
accordingly. Number portability resolution is supported by the
Comfone Signalling service.
Throttling
In order to avoid overload situations in destination MMSCs, the
Comfone MMS Hub has been set-up as a store & forward system
with throttling. A throttling rate can be configured on the MMS
Hub, inline with the input capacity of the recipient MMSC.
Content screening
MMS content screening can be activated for operators who do not
want to deliver certain content or who want to be alarmed if the
same content is sent multiple times (spam).
