SCCP routing

Comfone offers dedicated signalling access and thus is able to offer a full SCCP routing service, providing more added value to mobile operators.

Comfone’s full SCCP (Signalling Connection Control Part) routing service is based on GT (Global Title). The customer’s workload is subsequently eased as an individual International Signalling Point Code (ISPC) is not required and only one destination needs to be defined.

Many signalling service providers focus purely on the signalling transit service, which relies on sharing existing ISUP links that normally carry voice related signalling. This can lead to congestion or outages. Comfone’s routing service does not suffer from these problems as it relies on a dedicated signalling link for roaming signalling traffic.

The advantages of Comfone SCCP routing:

  • Comfone sets up the signalling relations with the carrier of the customer’s roaming partners
  • The operator does not need to implement the ISPC of the partner's carrier, only Global Titles are needed. All GT Translations shall result in Comfone as the destination, thus making the routing table changes very simple
  • The operator can make use of our GT Translation database where all roaming relations are periodically tested by means of an automatic Roaming Tester
  • Comfone supports signalling monitoring from MTP, SCCP, and TCAP levels up to MAP level. Support is provided by signalling specialists with GSM experience
  • Each MSU is counted and recorded
  • Statistics distinguish between mobile operators (based on Global Titles)
  • All this is backed up by dedicated network operations staff.
