Comfone takes pride in being an active member in many different industry groups covering a broad spectrum of telecoms related issues.

As an Associate Member of the GSMA, Comfone is a regular attendee at GSMA Plenary meetings and is subsequently well situated to influence the GSMA while remaining informed of all industry news.

Comfone's billing and clearing specialists are also active members of BARG, TADIG, FSS, TTS and DCHIG. Also, Comfone's GPRS roaming experts were instrumental in the founding of the GRX Task Force, now known as the GRX Working Party, a group which we continue to constructively participate in.

Toni Stadelmann, Board member of Comfone, has been an active member in various organisations associated with international standardisation and worldwide promotion of GSM from the very inception of the GSM standard in mobile communications. He played an important part in the foundation of the GSM Association and was elected to the Executive Committee in 1996 where he was a member until 2002 . As a member of the Executive Committee, he has been principally involved in ensuring that worldwide roaming can be implemented more simply and quickly.

More specifically, Toni Stadelmann, as chairman of the Inter-Standard Roaming Task Force, was involved in the controlled opening of the GSM Association for roaming to other mobile standards, which with the formation of the GSM Global Roaming Forum in 2000 represents an important milestone in the development of worldwide mobile communication.
