Find out more about the features that make Comfone’s GRX, one of the leading GRX’s currently in the market.
DNS
Comfone GRX includes a full Domain Name Service which maps logical names to IP addresses. The Comfone DNS is configured as a mirror of the .gprs root DNS of GSMA.
Routing
The Comfone GRX interfaces with other GPRS networks and GRXs using BGP-4, which allows dynamic routing based on Autonomous System Numbers. The GSM Association allocates AS Numbers to Mobile Network Operators. The Comfone GRX routing interface is fully compliant with GSMA recommendations as defined in the GSMA document IR.34.
Specific customer requirements can be addressed in reference to load sharing, traffic splitting over multiple links and asymmetric routing issues by analysing the requirements and implementing the optimal routing solution with the use of BGP parameters.
Peering
All of the major GRX Service Providers have GRX Network Peering Arrangements with each other. This allows Mobile Network Operators to connect to their GRX Service Provider of choice and at the same time gain access to the entire GSM (GPRS/3G/4G) Data Roaming community.
For more detailed information about Comfone’s peering partners please refer to the list of GRX interconnections in the GRX Reach List.
Quality of Service
The Comfone GRX Service is backed by a comprehensive SLA, with commitments and guarantees for the following Key Performance Indicators (KPI):
- Service Performance and Availability
- Backbone Network Delay Values
- Packet Loss Rate
- Service Implementation
- Network Changes and Updates
- Service Support Performance
All KPI values are in full compliance with appropriate GSMA specifications and guidelines set out in the relevant PRDs.
The IPX Backbone Network
The Comfone IPX Backbone Network is fully MPLS enabled and offers Class of Service (CoS) traffic marking facilities so that certain types of traffic can be given priority over others at times of congestion. For example when the Comfone International Signalling Service is bundled with the GRX, the signalling traffic will receive precedence over the GRX traffic.
