SMS traffic is constantly increasing, driven by A2P and M2M markets. Mobile operators are faced with the challenge of controlling incoming Interworking SMS and converting this traffic into revenue. The SMS Gateway is a Value added service for Comfone signalling that offers advanced screening and accounting of Interworking SMS. The platform supports both MAP and SMPP access including conversion and extended traffic reports via the Comfone Pulse portal.
The SMS Gateway differs from public SMS hubs: Management of the commercial agreements and termination rates remain under the operator's full control. The operator can therefore leverage all its existing roaming agreements that by default include SMS interworking without termination charges. Comfone also offers a community based SMS hub with its Key2roam service.
